Thursday afternoon Gustav made his debut for the Winthrop High School’s varsity soccer team – the Vikings –against Triton Regional in a friendly. For a first game in season after only limited practice the team made a solid performance and where quickly up 2-0. The second goal was scored by Gustav on a penalty. Despite massive advantage in both possession and goal scoring opportunities The Vikings couldn’t find the net for the rest of the game. Triton could therefore with a late equalizer create some excitement at the end. Ultimately The Vikings got a well-deserved 2-1 victory. During the game Gustav played as winger on both the left and right and as classical number 9 striker.
Already on Tuesday 3rd September at 6 PM The Vikings will have their first league game against Seagus home at Miller Field.
