Saturday afternoon Winthrop Vikings played their first game in the MIAA playoffs against Bishop Connolly Tigers.
After missing the last four games of the regular season Gustav returned to the Viking's starting line-up and quickly made an impact. Within the first 20 minutes Gustav managed a hattrick to bring the Vikings ahead 3-0. However, with 2 quick goals the Tigers made a comeback to make it an open game again. Just before the halftime whistle the Vikings extended their lead and with additional 2 goals quickly into the second half the victory was secured. With 4 goals and 2 assists in yesterday game Gustav now has 22 goals and 8 assists in his 16 games for the Vikings.
The game ended 8-3 to the Vikings, who play their next knockout game, round of 16, away against Rockland High on Wednesday 10th November at 5 PM.
